As it's Saturday again, Wolverton Works accepts more trains for attention as well as others leaving so that means more interesting workings. Secondly, there was an extraordinarily convoluted drag starting from Long Marston heading for Eastleigh. There is an audio file of part of the event on my Youtube channel. Please check this out.

47813, 11.05 Wolverton Centre sidings-Derby RTC (0M60, 1L), site of Roade station
47813 'Jack Frost' has just set off from Wolverton Works a short distance south from this location in Roade. It is running as the 0M60 11.05 to Derby RTC. The previous day it hauled a Wessex Class 442 from Bournemouth depot to Wolverton where it rested overnight. As well as having its traditional red nameplate and Rail Operations Group branding it has had a large 'Thank You NHS' vinyl applied during the COVID-19 pandemic.

323210, 10.49 Soho TMD-Wolverton Centre siding (5Z23, 4E), site of Roade station
In a brief glimpse of sunshine with threatening black clouds overhead West Midlands Railway's 323210 nears journey's end as it passes Roade running as the 10.49 Soho MPD to Wolverton Works. It's strange that this unit is returning to the Wolverton facility as it visited only three weeks ago, see.... https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/29028474804/x323210-11-05-soho-lmd-wolverton I wonder if this second trip was planned or because something was not right when it was released the first time round?

37800, 319373 & 319009, 10.18 Long Marston-Eastleigh Arlington (5Q86, 1E), Roade cutting
Again lucky with the sun as it had just stopped raining, 37800 'Cassiopeia' is seen working hard through Roade cutting towing 319373 and 319009. The two former Thameslink units were being taken from storage at Long Marston to Eastleigh's Arlington plant for attention running as 5Q86. It is taking a very strange route from Long Marston, located just north of the Cotswold line, via Worcester, Lickey, St. Andrew's Junction, down the WCML to London (via Kensington) thence to Eastleigh. There are other far more straightforward routes that this train could have taken so I am somewhat intrigued as to why this two hundred and forty-two miles journey was chosen....advice anybody?
