On the last of a fantastic run of stunning early summer days before the cloud rolled in I went out to capture my first picture of one of the celebrity Class 66s that are in operation. This followed from a very useful internet posting from 55022 who had listed what the entire set was working on this particular day. The trip out coincided with the passage of a CS Crewe to Wembley light engine move.

92010, 13.41 Crewe TMD-Wembley Inter City depot (0Z93, 56E), site of Roade station
I suspect that 92010 was returning from Crewe to Wembley having undergone an examination or maintenance. The Caledonian Sleeper locomotive is seen passing the site of Roade station running as 0Z93 that left Crewe at 13.41.

66779, 12.05 London Gateway-Hams Hall (4M46, 8L), site of Roade station
This is my first photograph of celebrity 'Shed' 66779 'Evening Star'. This has been the only livery carried by this locomotive since its arrival on UK soil in February 2016 with it being named some three months later. GBRf certainly seem to take great care to look after the paintwork with it looking superb in the afternoon sunshine working the 12.05 London Gateway to Hams Hall Freightliner passing Roade. Thanks to the driver for the toot on the horn and the friendly wave as he passed.
