There were two scheduled workings into Wolverton Works showing on RTT and one out on this particular Saturday. In the event only one ran but I did manage to capture it whilst out on my daily 'lockdown walk'!

390153 working the 10.45 Wolverhampton to Euston passes through Roade cutting on a glorious spring morning. However, the sun is far too head-on at this time of day but with the COVID-19 restrictions preventing me from going to a better location this will have to do!

156464, 09.21 Newton Heath-Wolverton centre sidings (5J70, 35E), Roade cutting
I had been watching the progress of this working since it left Manchester's Newton Heath depot earlier in the morning half suspecting it to catch me out by travelling on the up fast instead of going via the Northampton loop as it was scheduled. Indeed, I surmised correctly and nipped out smartish as soon as I realised what was going on to capture it passing through Roade cutting. Northern's 156464 was making its way to Wolverton Works for some scheduled attention running as 5J70.

221103, VT 11.30 London Euston-Chester (1D85, RT), Roade cutting
For all intents and purposes, this still appears to be a fully-fledged Virgin working passing through Roade cutting some five months after the operator handed over the reins to Avanti West Coast! 221103 'Christopher Columbus' works the 11.30 Euston to Chester 1D85 service no doubt with very few passengers on-board due to the COVID-19 crisis that has enveloped the country (and the world for that matter).
