In the afternoon I took my recently restored Alfa GTV out for a run to Victoria bridge to capture the returning Royal Windsor Statesman charter.

350129 & 350126, LM 17.49 London Euston-Birmingham New Street (1W23), Victoria bridge 350129 and 350126 pass Victoria bridge just south of Roade in Northamptonshire with the 1W23 17.49 Euston to Birmingham New Street. Whist photographing in high summer is not my preferred time of year, in the evenings when the sun gets lower in the sky the quality of light is excellent as in this image. 390125, VT unidentified up working, Victoria bridge I give up! Despite all the technology available today I cannot identify this Virgin Trains up working seen passing Victoria bridge in Northamptonshire. With the summer sunshine catching one of Roade's two water towers, this one on Ashton Road, 390125 heads south on the up fast. 390040, VT 18.00 London Euston-Manchester Piccadilly (1H01), Victoria bridge Virgin Pendolino 390040 just catches some low evening summer sunshine at Victoria bridge as it races north with the 18.00 Euston to Manchester Piccadilly. I love the flat bottomed cumulous mediocris cloud formation in this image, a typical skyscape of an English summer evening. 350370 & 350105, LM 17.14 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (2Y38), Victoria bridge In lovely evening summer sun, 350370 and 350105 head south past Victoria bridge forming the 17.14 Birmingham New Street to Euston. 57315, return leg of The Royal Windsor Statesman, Windsor & Eton Riverside-Crewe (1Z57), Victoria bridge Even in strong evening summer sunshine, West Coast Railway's 57315 looks somewhat bland in its drab livery. It is also a shame that the operator did not prepare the locomotive for its railtour duties by giving it a clean! It is seen passing Victoria bridge between Northampton and Milton Keynes with the return 1Z57 return Royal Windsor Statesmen charter from Windsor and Eaton Riverside to Crewe. 47802, return leg of the Royal Windsor Statesman, Windsor & Eton Riverside Crewe (1Z57), Victoria bridge Veteran Brush Type 4 dating from 1966 number 47802 brings up the rear of The Royal Windsor Statesman charter past Victoria bridge between Northampton and Milton Keynes. The Statesman Rail charter left Windsor and Eton Riverside returning its passengers to Crewe dropping some off on the way with them travelling in a smart set of Mk.
