My pre-Christmas visit to my train buddy Andy (mentioned in these pages many times!) happened to coincide with a Sunday light engine move worth waiting for. I briefly stopped off at Victoria bridge to witness its passage. I also photographed my first Avanti West Coast liveried Pendolino.

92044, 12.48 Wembley Receptions-Crewe HS (0Z91), Victoria bridge
Class 92s have become increasingly rare on the WCML unless hauling sleeper services so the passage of 92044 'Couperin', even if a light engine, was enough to tempt me out. Amazingly, this locomotive still carries its GB Railfreight/Europorte branding and livery that it has worn for many years. Running as 0Z91, 12.48 Wembley to Crewe, it is seen passing Victoria bridge between Northampton and Milton Keynes.

66425, 13.09 DIRFT-Ripple Lane (4L48), Victoria bridge
A regular as clockwork Sunday freight on the southern WCML is the 4L48 13.09 (or thereabouts) Daventry to Ripple Lane 'Tesco' Freighliner. It is seen passing Victoria bridge just south of Roade hauled by 66425. This particular DRS liveried Class 66 is one of my most photographed, the majority of which were taken with it hauling this working.

390155, VT 12.16 Manchester Piccadilly-London Euston (1A25, 3E), Victoria bridge
My first image of an Avanti West Coast Pendolino at Victoria bridge just south of Roade in Northamptonshire. It is about to sweep under the bridge forming the 1A25 12.16 Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston. With time, the entire fifty-six train sets will be in this new smart teal livery. However, it is not yet clear as to whether there will be a naming poicy for some or all of the fleet.
