As a birthday present to myself, I took an hour out in my Combo van to nearby Victoria bridge in order to capture the passing of the 1Z46 Euston to Crewe ecs working.

350371 leads 350110 past Victoria bridge with the village of Roade seen in the background. The pair of Desiros are working the Sunday afternoon 13.37 Crewe to Euston that has travelled via Northampton rather than taking the Weedon line as iut would normally do.

37419, 12.44 London Euston-Crewe (1Z46), Victoria bridge
With the stock having been used the previous day's (09.05.15) The Four Triangles railtour it is seen returning north past Victoria bridge just south of Roade. This was a one-way move running as 1Z46 that was supposed to leave Euston for Crewe at lunctime. However, by the time it reched this location, some sixty miles into its journey to Crewe, it was two hours late. Rather than running as empty coaching stock, passengers could pay a modest fare for the one-way journey travelling behind DRS' 37419 'Carl Haviland'.

57310 & 37419, 12.44 London Euston-Crewe (1Z46), Victoria bridge
Former Virgin Thunderbird, 57310 'Pride of Cumbria' brings up the rear of the 1Z46 12.44 Euston to Crewe returning railtour stock. This was not running as an ecs working as passengers could pay to make this one-way trip with profits going to charity. Unfortunately, they would have been disappointed with the timings as it is runnin one hundred and twenty minutes late as it passes Roade in Northamptonshire. 37419 'Carl Haviland' is power the train at the front. Notice that the stock, that was used on the previous day's The Four Triangles railtour, is composed of four different types making for a colourful composition!
