A brief work-related trip to Canley was followed by a short walk to a car dealership to collect a car for a customer. I had a very pleasant drive back to Northampton in a rather nice classic Jaguar.

A typical day of April showers, witness the blue sky with dark rain clouds and the wet platform. 350127 waits at Northampton's platform three about to leave with the 10.49 London Euston to Birmingham New Street stopper service. I took this train as far as Canley, just north of Coventry.

Ticket, Northampton Canley
My ticket from Northampton to Canley. This was a walk-on, off-peak single that makes it one of the most expensive ways to make the relatively short thirty two-mile journey from Northampton to Canley. It worked out to be just a shade under thirty-three pence per mile!
