This really will be the last morning with enough light to capture the sleeper passing this section of the southern WCML. Therefore, it is probably gonged to be the last time that I will photograph the Mk. III stock before the CAF Mk. Vs are introduced....or will it be?

Class 390, VT 06.16 Manchester Piccadilly-London Euston (1H06, 3L), Blisworth
With the sun just peeking above the horizon, an unidentified class 390 passes Blisworth in Northamptonshire forming the 06.16 Euston to manchester Piccadilly, the first Virgin service to the north-west of the day.

90046, CS 19.50 Fort William, 21.43 Aberdeen & 20.45 Inverness-London Euston (1M16, 3E), Blisworth
With the rising sun just above the horizon, 90046 is illuminated leading the Caledonian Sleeper 1M16 Highland service. Today it is running to time following the previous day's disaster with it arriving into Euston a whopping one hundred and eighteen minutes late! The CAF Mk. V stock has still yet to be introduced on the Highland service due to a number of serious technical problems so the Mk. IIIs are still in use but very much but on borrowed time. As this will be the last morning that I will be able to get out and take a photograph near home due to the lack of light, that is unless it is late again, then scenes such as this with the train passing Blisworth will be confined to history.

Stock, CS 19.50 Fort William, 21.43 Aberdeen & 20.45 Inverness-London Euston (1M16, 3E), Blisworth
Is this the final picture that I will manage of the Mk. III sleeper stock-your guess is as good as mine! The CAF Mk. Vs should have been in use on all of the CS trains for six months now but due to continuing technical issues, this has not been able to happen. Let's hope that CAF and CS can sort out these issues so passengers can get to experience the new and very expensive stock as soon as possible and to restore the operators somewhat tarnished reputation. The 1M16 Highland service is seen passing Blisworth as the sun just raises its head above the horizon on what would be yet another glorious September day.
