221128, XC 10.27 Manchester Piccadilly-Banbury (1O14), Birmingham New Street station
221128 is waiting for the 'off' at Birmingham New Street working the 10.27 Manchester Piccadilly to Banbury service. The unusual termination of this train is due to engineering works on the line south of Banbury.

390002, VT 11.47 Wolverhampton-London Euston (1B18), Birmingham New Street station
The 11.47 Wolverhampton to London Euston Virgin service pauses at Birmingham New Street. These Pendolinos are synonymous with many services on this route and those via the Trent Valley. Like so many things on our railways, we get so accustomed to everyday 'normal' events such as this but what about when they are moved on elsewhere or even withdrawn, they then become a memory and these pictures take on a whole new importance.

350257 & 350119, LM 12.14 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (2Y22), Birmingham New Street station
350257 and 350119 will very soon leave Birmingham New Street working the 12.14 to London Euston. My wife, son and I took this train back to Northampton.

66434, 13.01Daventry-Purfleet (4L48) & 350245, LM 11.37 Crewe-London Euston, Northampton station
As we passed DIRFT on our journey back from Birmingham, I observed 66434 waiting to leave the confines of the depot with the 4L48 13.01 Freightliner to Purfleet. By the time we had alighted from our train at Northampton, gone through the barriers and walked round to the Spencer Bridge road bridge, it was in the station being brought to a halt at the up middle road signal. This wait enabled 350245, working the 11.37 Crewe to Euston, to get out in front of it.
