In order to maintain my daily 10 000 paces, I took a brisk walk around the village with my camera over my shoulder! This happened to coincide with the passing of two infrastructure trains and the regular as clockwork 4L98 Freightliner.

66130, 11.00 Tring-Bescot, Hyde Road bridge, Roade
66130 leads the 11.00 Tring to Bescot engineers' train through Roade about to pass under Hyde Road bridge. I was pleased to get a shot of this 66 as it was a photographic cop! Notice the building on the skyline with the very tall chimney stack, this was the former station master's house with Roade station being just beyond the A508 bridge.

350248, LN 10.37 Crewe-London Euston (1U28, 2E), Roade Cutting
Taken from the lofty heights of the locally named Muddy or Dirty Lane bridge above Roade Cutting is 350248. It is forming the 1U28 10.37 Crewe to London Euston that, on a Sunday, goes via Northampton rather than the more usual route via the Weedon loop.

66059, 10.15 Apsley-Crewe Basford Hall, Roade cutting
66059 leads the very long and heavy 10.15 Apsley to Crewe Basford Hall infrastructure train. After over-night engineering works, this train first headed south to Wembley on the up slow. On arrival, the 66 ran round and then the train retraced its route continuing north. It is seen passing through Roade Cutting, all 2 200 tons of it, if RTT is to be believed!

350239 & 350246, LN 12.14 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (2Y22, 3L), A508 road bridge, Roade
Taken from a spot that I don't use that often, the A508 road bridge in my home village of Roade. The picture shows 350239 and 350246 working the 12.14 Birmingham New Street to London Euston.

66423, 13.09 DIRFT-Purfleet (4L48), A508 road bridge, Roade
66423 brings the SuO 13.09 (or time thereabouts) Daventry International Railfreight Terminal to Purfleet Freightliner train. This 4L48 working is seen about to pass under the A508 main road bridge in the village of Roade having just emerged from the depths of Roade Cutting. I have a virtually identical photograph of the same working being hauled by the same locomotive at the same location but in early summer, see .....https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/29048920604/x66423-13-09-dirft-purfleet-4l48
