After working in the morning and dropping my son at work, I spent less than an hour above Roade Cutting on Dirty Lane Bridge. What a different day to yesterday!

And.....a Happy Christmas to all my readers!

350249, LN 11.54 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (2Y38, RT), Roade Cutting
As London Northwestern were operating a 'reduced' timetable on this Christmas Eve, their services were strengthened with all the ones I observed being formed of three sets of class 350s. Here, 350249 leads two other units forming the 11.54 Birmingham New Street to London Euston through Roade Cutting that is, as usual at this time of year, in deep shade.

Still wearing its EWS colours, 66054 passes light engine through Roade Cutting as the 0M45 12.08 Wembley to Daventry railfreight terminal. On Realtime Trains, this move was shown as starting from Dollands Moor so obviously something changed. I am not sure what service it worked back later.

In the shady depths of Roade Cutting, 390129 'City of Stoke-on-Trent' is seen working the 1A30 11.47 Liverpool Lime Street to Euston.

66206, 11.23 Bescot-Wembley (6Z02), Roade Cutting
No doubt in preparation for some of the many engineering works taking place over the festive period, 66206 leads a short set of empty IEA-A ballast wagons through Roade Cutting as the 6Z02 11.23 Bescot to Wembley.
