70008, 05.01 Trafford Park-Felixstowe North FLT (4L97), Northampton station
70008 takes the centre road through Northampton leading the 05.01 Trafford Park to Felixstowe Freightliner. I'm sure that we all agree that these class 70s will win no prizes in the external design awards! However, the sound that they make is impressive and, living as I do a short distance from the WCML, my attention is always drawn when one is passing.

350121 arrives at Northampton with the 1Y15 09.13 Euston to Birmingham New Street. As you can see from this image, I like breaking the rules of photography taking pictures into the sun! However, in winter when the sun is low in the sky it can produce some surprisingly interesting images.

92032, stabled, Wembley Yard
92032 'I Mech E Railway Division' looks smart in its GBRF livery as its sits stabled in Wembley yard. These class 92s were full of cutting edge technology when they were delivered in the mid 1990s. Since then, there fortunes have waxed and waned a bit as the fortunes of international freight through the channel tunnel came and went. A number have been exported to Eastern Europe countries where they see use on freight workings.

86401, stabled, Willesden Yard
In its newly applied Caledonian Sleeper livery, 86401 'Mons Meg' sits between duties at Willesden Depot. This vintage AC electric is used to haul ECS sleeper stock in and out of Euston. On rare occasions, it has been used to haul the services throughout when the regular locomotives are not available.

Tickets, Northampton-London Euston-Northampton
Pretty good value on this particular day, less than £20 return for the pair of us is good going in anybody's books!
