Class 100 DMU, unidentified Pickering-Grosmont working, Goathland station
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway used this class 100 DMU for a number of years during the 1970s. It was painted into an LNER style of green and white and frequently carried the National Park Scenic Service headboard. Sc50341 and Sc56097 arrive at Goathland with a Pickering to Grosmont working with the signallman and driver about to exchange tokens.

D1048, stabled, Grosmont Yard from class 100 DMU
Taken from the cab of class 100 DMU Sc50341 as it passes Grosmont yard on the North Yorkshire Moors railway. The image shows a brake van, a steam crane and D1048 'Western lady' half stabled in the short tunnel. Also notice, the ex BR (NE) tangerine enamel running-in sign from Redcar Central left laying by the track.

D5500, down freight, Goathland station
Back at Goathland after our family walk, type 3 D5500 arrives with a freight working from the Pickering direction. D5500 had only been withdrawn from service as 31018 two years previously after being in service on the Eastern Region for some 18 years. This locomotive is still with us today being on-display at the National Railway Museum in York. Now, it is painted back into its BR blue paint scheme and carrying its TOPS number of 31018, see....... https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/30013280894/x19-31018-preserved-nrm
