An afternoon and evening trip to London with the lovely Mrs. Randall in order to see Ennio Morricone live at the o2. A very late journey back home meant a pretty exhausting following day; I'm not keen on this 'getting old' thing!

350370, LN 11.33 Birmingham New Street-London-Euston (1W12, 1L) & 68004, 10.30 Crewe Gresty Bridge-Wembley LE, Northampton station A bit of a 'grab shot' showing 68004 'Rapid' passing through Northampton forming the 10.30 Gresty Bridge to Wembley light engine move. I spotted this engine as I was walking across the station bridge with my wife and got a bit of a chivvy on, switched the camera on and without checking settings grabbed this purely record shot. To the left is 350370 waiting to leave platform two with the 11.33 Birmingham New Street to Euston service. 350370, LN 11.33 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (1W12, 1L) & 350369, LN 11.49 London Euston-Northampton (1W11, 1L), Northampton station More and more of London Northwestern's class 350s are now appearing in their new style livery; I'll leave you to decide what you think! To the right, 350369 waits at platform one with the 11.49 Euston to Birmingham New Street. To the left is our train to London, the 11.33 Birmingham New Street to Euston. 66171, stabled, Wembley Yard By the time we got to London, the sun in Northampton had given way to a grey and overcast afternoon. In Wembley Yard, 66171 sits stabled at the head of some large wagons. Keywords: 66171 stabled, Wembley Yard
66086 & 37601, stabled, Wembley Yard Passing the southern end of Wembley Yard finds 66086 stabled close to veteran English Electric 37601 'Perseus'. 350259, LN 23.04 London Euston-Northampton (2N33, RT), London Euston station 350259 sits in the unlit gloom at the entrance to Euston station waiting to leave forming the 2N33 23.04 Euston to Northampton. This is the train that we took back to all the way to Northampton arriving at an unearthly hour! This was a three-set formation that stopped at every station and one that was surprisingly empty.
