M51188 & M56352, 09.55 Sheringham-Holt, Kelling Heath
Leaving a cloud of exhaust in its wake, the 09.55 Sheringham to Holt DMU service completes its climb of Kelling Bank crossing the heath at Windpump crossing. The DMU is composeed of two class 101 cars from different sets. The BR blue car is M51188 on loan from the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. The rear car is M56652, in British Railways green, is on a long-term loan agreement from the National Railway Museum.

90775, 10.30 Sheringham-Holt, Kelling Bank
WD 2-10-0 90775 'The Royal Norfolk Regiment' makes easy work of the 1:80 gradient at Kelling between Weybourne and Holt. It is leading the 10.30 Sheringham to Holt service; the first steam hauled service of the day. I love this spot but it takes a little getting to and and high-viz. is essential to keep everybody happy and safe.

90775, 11.25 Holt-Sheringham, Kelling Heath
Having worked to Holt with the first steam working of the day, 90775 'The Royal Norfolk Regiment' drifts back with the 11.25 Holt to Sheringham. It is seen running tender first across Kelling Heath and about to descend to Weybourne. I love the colours of autumn and the profusion of bracken (Pteridium) adds to the scene but it looks like the North Norfolk Railway maintenance team could do with a little 'controlled' cutting on the embankments.
