After a bit of a lay-in at the hotel followed by a leisurely breakfast in the superb Grand Central cafe opposite New Street station, my wife and I made our way home with the echoes of last night's excellent Blondie concert ringing in our ears!

 An unidentified Cross Country class 221 leaves Birmingham New Street with the 11.07 Manchester to Bristol 1V53 working. To save a reversal at New Street, the train leaves in an easterly direction via the South Tunnel to St. Andrew's Junction off the WCML. Then, it heads south through south Birmingham and Moseley Tunnel and re-joins the Midland line at King's Norton.
