M51192 & M56352, 09.55 Sheringham-Holt, Kelling Bank A dull morning in north Norfolk means that the sea can hardly be made out from this superb spot. One of the Poppy Line's class 101 DMUs formed of M51192 and M56352 climbs Kelling Bank with the first train of the day, the 09.55 Sheringham to Holt. I love this spot, it's a great place to wait for trains listening to the birds and to the wind in the gorse! Keywords: M51192 M56352 09.55 Sheringham-Holt Kelling Bank
92203, 10.45 Sheringham-Holt, Kelling Bank 92203 'Black Prince' takes Kelling Bank with some ease leading the 10.45 Sheringham to Holt. In the distance the village of Weybourne can just be seen in the grey gloom with its lovely windmill that features in many pictures of this area. Keywords: 92203 10.45 Sheringham-Holt Kelling Bank
M56352 & M51192, 12.15 Holt-Sheringham, Weybourne station Owned by the National Railway Museum but resident on the NNR this superb looking class 101 DMU is composed of M56352 and M51192. M51192 was new in 1958 being allocated to Rycroft in the West Midlands. M56352 was also introduced in 1958 but as a first generation class 144 as opposed to the Pacer. The duo arrive at Weybourne station working the 12.15 Holt to Sheringham service. Keywords: M56352 M51192 12.15 Holt-Sheringham Weybourne station
92203, 12.10 Sheringham-Holt, Weybourne station 92203 'Black Prince' eases out of Weybourne station with the 12.10 Sheringham to Holt. It's a thought that the 9F is actually some years newer than the class 101 DMU that has just arrived working the opposite direction! Keywords: 92203 12.10 Sheringham-Holt Weybourne station
92203, 12.10 Sheringham-Holt, Weybourne station 92203 'Black Prince' gets into its stride as it leaves Weybourne with the 12.10 Sheringham to Holt. 92203 is a special loco. for me as it was the first steam train that I went out and saw on the lineside. Back on 20.04.75 it ran from Westbury to Eastleigh Open day. I rode my bike from home out to Dilton Marsh just south of Westbury and recorded it on my little cassette recorder climbing the bank a little like it is doing here as begins the accent of Kelling bank! Unfortunately, back in 1975 I did not take a picture on my instamatic camera of the event and the recording has long-gone! Keywords: 92203 12.10 Sheringham-Holt Weybourne station
92203, 15.30 Sheringham-Holt, Dead Mans Hill TG135434 After leaving my wife and son in Sheringham playing in the amusement arcades, I walked back to Kelling to get the car. On my walk back, 92203 'Black Prince' is seen leading the 15.30 Sheringham to Holt past Dead Man's Hill just west of Sheringham. It's shame that the sun was not out, it makes this image too flat and lifeless but at least the trail of exhaust livens it it up a bit! Keywords: 92203 15.30 Sheringham-Holt Dead Mans Hill TG135434
