M51192 & M56352, 09.55 Sheringham-Holt, Kelling Bank The first train of the day climbs Kelling Bank just past Weybourne station. The 09.55 Sheringham to Holt service is worked by one of the North Norfolk Railway's resident class 101 DMUs formed of M51192 and M56352. This set is owned by the National Railway Museum and is on long-term loan to the NNR and sees a lot of use. Keywords: M51192 M56352 09.55 Sheringham-Holt Kelling Bank
564, 10.45 Sheringham-Holt, Kelling Bank The M&GN Joint Railway Society own this lovely 1912 Stratford built Y14 0-6-0 number 564 and it is based on the NNR seeing plenty of use throughout the season. Here, 564 thrashes up Kelling Bank leading the 10.45 Sheringham to Holt, the first steam hauled service of the day. Keywords: 564 10.45 Sheringham-Holt Kelling Bank
20227, stabled, Weybourne station In its slightly unorthodox livery, 20227 sits in Weybourne's Yard. The class 20 was a late production locomotive being built in 1968 and in traffic as D8327 gaining its TOPS number on New Year's Eve in 1973. The class 20 is on-loan to the NNR from the Class 20 Locomotive Society. Keywords: 20227 stabled Weybourne station
M51192 & M56352, 11.20 Sheringham-Holt, Weybourne station Having done its first round-trip of the day, the operational class 101 DMU formed by M51192 and M56352 arrives at Weybourne with the 11.20 Sheringham to Holt. There is a huge amount of interest at Weybourne station both for the enthusiast and 'normal' visitor. It has a lovely atmosphere and you can sit on the platform with a drink and lap it all up and finish off using their award winning preserved toilets complete with Thomas Crapper cisterns! M51192 & M56352, 11.20 Sheringham-Holt & 564, 11.25 Holt-Sheringham, Weybourne station The usual service pattern on the NNR is that trains pass at Weybourne that is located about equidistant between Sheringham and Holt. This means that there are busy times when this happens and some incongruous combinations of motive power. Here is one such combination, a class 101 DMU formed of M51192 and M56352 waits with the 11.20 Sheringham to Holt whilst 0-6-0 GER Y12 564 is ready with the 11.25 Holt to Sheringham. After the noisy activity and the two trains have departed, peace and tranquility returns to this delightfully restored rural station. M56352 & M51192, 12.15 Holt-Sheringham, Weybourne station One of the the North Norfolk Railway's resident class 101 DMUs arrive at Weybourne with the 12.15 Holt to Sheringham. 564, 12.10 Sheringham-Holt, Weybourne station Y12 0-6-0 564 makes a racket as it leads the 12.10 Sheringham to Holt out of Weybourne station. The picture is taken from a picnic area to the side of Weybourne's fabulously preserved station and is a smashing spot to view trains from. Keywords: 564 12.10 Sheringham-Holt Weybourne station
M51192 & M56352, going on-shed, Weybourne station Having had our afternoon out in Cromer, my wife dropped me back at Weybourne station. I was just in time to see the class 101 DMU made up of M51192 and M56352 arriving back from Sheringham as empty coaching stock. The unit is going to make the short journey back to the shed adjacent to the station for servicing ready for the rigours of next day's workings. 564, 16.20 Holt-Sheringham, Weybourne The final service train of the day leaves Weybourne station with the 16.20 Holt to Sheringham. Once it arrives at its destination, it will run round the stock and return light engine back to Weybourne depot for servicing.
