Another Cumbrian Mountain Express. This time from a soon to closed pedestrian bridge in the village of Roade where I live. The closure is supposed to be for a few months but I can see it going on much longer to inconvenience villagers (and photographers!) as much as possible!

390151, VT 07.20 London Euston-Manchester Piccadilly (1H09, 3L), site of Roade station
As well as being named 'Virgin Ambassador' 390151 is also branded with the large 'Business is Great' vinyls on coaches A and K. The Pendolino is seen passing the site of the old Roade station with the 07.20 Euston to Manchester Piccadilly. The autumn colours are beginning to show through on the trees, but once again it is a bit of a dull morning.

86259, outward leg of The Cumbrian Mountain Express, 07.10 London Euston-Carlisle (1Z86), site of Roade station
It's a good job that I did not decide to go and see the 1Z86 Cumbrian Mountain Express somewhere on the Weedon Loop on this morning as I would have been waiting a long time! For some reason it has been pathed on the down slow and will go via Northampton. 86259 'Les Ross/Peter Pan' leads the regular special past the site of Roade station. The re-routing of the train did not cause any long term issues as it still arrived within a minute of its booked time at Farington Junction.

350374 and 350128 work the 06.54 Birmingham New Street to London Euston pas the site of Roade station. The access to the old station and the yard is road to the right with the actual platforms located exactly where the train is. The station building was located in the top right of the image where the autumnal tree can be seen.

Making a heck of a racket, as the class 70s do, 70014 passes the site of Roade station leading the 4L52 03.35 Garston to London Gateway Freightliner.
