After collecting my computer from the repairers at Weedon, the sun had come out so I had an hour or so photographing Virgin workings.

The train is seen from the Dodford Road bridge that links the village of the same name to the A5. Unfortunately, the whole line in this really is difficult to access and is somewhat overgrown so the pictures are 'fussy' with the electrification paraphernalia often in the way. Class 221, VT 14.23 London Euston-Birmingham New Street (9G26, 1L), Dodford Lane Bridge SP623607 An unidentified class 221 takes a curve just north of Weedon with the 14.23 Euston to Birmingham New Street. In the background the new Weedon bypass can be seen under construction. The bridge that has been constructed for this new road may well offer a new photographic opportunity? 390137, VT 14.40 London Euston-Manchester Piccadilly (1H69, RT), Weedon SP635589 390137 'Virgin Difference' is seen working the 14.40 Euston to Manchester Piccadilly on the approach to Weedon. In the background, Stowehill Tunnel can be seen with the sun also shining at the far end of it. The 491 yard tunnel was completed in 1838 by The London and Birmingham Railway. It has just emerged from Stowe Hill tunnel the parapet of which can just be seen in the distance. Stowe Hill Tunnel is about a mile south of Weedon on the southern WCML in Northamptonshire.
