Our traditional local trip to the Northampton and Lamport Railway for my Father's day treat. We took our bikes to a point north of the railway and rode there and back for a little light exercise!

47205, 12.00 ex. Pitsford Fathers Day special, Pitsford station Northampton and Lamport Railway's resident class 47 arrives into Pitsford station with one the Farther's Day specials. 47205 entered service in July 1965 as D1855, in 1994 it was renumbered 47395 only to return to 47205 again in 1995. It was withdrawn in 2004 and entered preservation. Keywords: 47205 Pitsford station
47205, 13.00 Pitsford-Pitsford Fathers Day special, Pitsford station 47205 sits at Pitsford station waiting to leave with the 13.00 return Father's Day special. As can be seen, the class 47 is undergoing some restoration. The team at the NLR have been rubbing down and preparing its Railfreight grey livery for some nice new shiny paint! M3919, toilet compartment, Pitsford sidings I does not look like anybody will be using the toilet and hand basin in the compartment of Mk. 1 carriage M3919! This coach was built at Eastleigh as part of lot 30086 sometime between 1953 and 1955. This particular example has had its vacuum brakes restored. Let's hope it can be in use again soon when funds allow. Keywords: M3919 Pitsford sidings
53, stored, Pitsford station yard Built by Ruston and Hornsby at Lincoln in 1953 no. 53 'Sir Alfred Wood' is seen under cover at Pitsford station. The industrial shunter is undergoing some restoration but remains covered as at present the NLR has limited covered facilities. At the time of writing, they are appealing for funds so they can construct a new shed. Keywords: 53, shunter Pitsford Yard
47205, 13.00 ex. Pitsford Fathers Day special, Pitsford station Looking a bit sad in its rubbed down state, 47205 leaves Pitsford station with the 13.00 return Father's day special.
