For my birthday treat my wife and I went to London. In the afternoon, we went to the theatre to see 'Who's afraid of Virginia Wolf' starring the incredible Imelda Staunton. After, we had a super dinner before heading home.

350118 wears its "Not To Be Moved" sign as it is serviced at Northampton station. This 08.33 Birmingham to Euston has a stop-over of about fifteen minutes in order to fill the water tanks and give it a quick internal clean. We regularly take this service from Northampton to London as we did on this day.

86259 'Les Ross/Peter Pan' is usually stabled at the southern end of Willesden Yard. It's unusual to see the veteran 86 stabled here in the week as it usually resided in the somewhat overgrown carriage sidings at Rugby. It may have been receiving an exam at Willesden or being hired in to undertake piloting duties for Caledonian Sleeper.

This is the last train of the day to leave for Glasgow where it arrives at just after midnight. On this occasion, this train arrived at 00.10 just five minutes late after completing its 400 mile journey.
