350238, LM 18.33 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (1Y26, RT), Roade Hill
In poor evening light that tested the camera's capabilities, 350238 passes Roade Hill just a short distance from home working the 18.33 Birmingham new Street to Euston. To get this shot a ladder is an essential piece of equipment here to scale the palisade fencing!

350122, LM 19.50 Northampton-Bletcheley CS ECS (5B47), Roade Hill
Having worked an evening commuter service earlier, 350122 returns from Northampton to Bletchley Carriage Sidings as the 5B47 ECS. In the poor evening light it is seen passing Roade Hill. One of Roade's two water towers can be see just above the last coach of the train through the over-engineered signal gantry.

350111, LM 18.02 Crewe-London Euston (1U42, 2E), Roade Hill
Working one of the 18.02 Crewe to Euston 'fast' train, 350111 passes Roade formed of 350111. I refer to this train as a 'fast' as from Birmingham southwards it is making few stops and routed via the up fast line. However, between there and Crewe it is very much a 'slow' train taking a circuitous route and making many stops!

88002, return leg of The Class 88 VIP Launch, 16.40 Carlisle-London Euston (1Z89), Roade Hill
With the light pushing the camera to the limits, 88002 'Prometheus' passes Roade Hill with the return leg of the The Class 88 VIP launch. As the name suggests, this was train that ran to mark the introduction of the bi-mode class 88s that ran as 1Z89 from Crewe back to Euston. Out of sight on the rear was 68022 'Resolution'.

68022, return leg of The Class 88 VIP Launch, 16.40 Carlisle London Euston (1Z89), Roade Hill
Whilst the invited officials and dignitaries enjoy their dinner aboard The Class 88 VIP Launch 1Z89 heads south past Roade Hill in Northamptonshire. The more observant will note that this is not a class 88 but 68022 'Resolution'. 88002 'Prometheus' was up the front of the train running under electric power. The whole train ran as the 16.40 Carlisle to London Euston.
