One of our regular away-days to London. This time my wife and I went to see Carmen La Cubana at Sadler's Wells. An excellent and vibrant production with a real twist to the original production!

56303, stabled & 47749, stabled, Wembley Yard
DCR owned and operated 56303 stands stabled in Wembley Yard. New in 1983 as 56125 it is now used for various freight contracts. Just to the right of the shot is Colas liveried 47749 'City of Truro'. As D1660 it was named in June 1965 becoming 47076 in 1973. It carried the GWR style nameplates until 1988 when it become 47625. After various changes to both its number and name it finally reverted back to 'City of Truro' in 2016.

Class 221, VT 11.10 London Euston-Chester (1D85, RT), London Euston
A class 221 stands in platform four at Euston waiting to work the 11.10 to Chester. When the much anticipated complete re-build of Euston finally happens, I wonder what scenes will present themselves?

Our return tickets from Northampton to Euston. At £34 not the cheapest deal that we have had for this journey. Again, this emphasises how much the fares vary even when using exactly the same trains.
