With an hour on my hands on the first day of August and the sun out I went to Victoria Bridge just near to home.

666529, 09.25 Southampton MCT-Garston FLT (4M28), Victoria Bridge A grab shot of 66529 as it passes under Victoria Bridge leading the diverted 09.25 Southampton to Garston 4M28 Freightliner. I had literally pulled up in my van on the bridge as the train approached giving me about five seconds to get the camera out, luckily the settings were good enough to capture the train! 66422, 14.06 DIRFT-Purfleet FLT, Victoria Bridge 66422, still wearing its old compass DRS livery, passes Victoria Bridge leading the 14.06 Daventry to Purfleet Freightliner. Class 222, VT 14.10 London Euston-Chester (1D88, RT), Victoria Bridge A class 221 hurries down the WCML at Victoria Bridge between Milton Keynes and Northampton working the 14.10 Euston to Chester. For over one third of its journey this diesel unit is under 25kV overhead wires, not the best use of resources I would suggest. 319467 & 319460, 14.36 Northampton EMD-Bletchley CS ECS (5B99), Victoria Bridge Former Thameslink 319467 and 319460 pass Victoria Bridge just south of Roade on the WCML making the short journey from Northampton's Kingsheath Depot to Bletchley carriage sidings as the 5B99 ECS. London NorthWestern retains a small number of these units to augment their morning and evening commuter services, for the rest of the day are stabled out of use. 221110, VT 13.35 Chester-London Euston (1A38, 6L), Victoria Bridge With one of Roade's characteristic water-towers in the background that, incidentally, has been sold to be turned into a house, 221110 'James Cook' passes Victoria Bridge.
