390148, VT 11. 36 Manchester Piccadilly-London Euston (1A20, 4E), Roade Cutting 390148 'Flying Scouseman' heads through Roade Cutting working the 11.36 Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston. At this time this was one of the few remaining class 390s still in their as-built livery. 390155 carried the name 'Virgin Harrier' but lost his name following the Liverpool Echo newspaper's Train naming competition in June 2017. 390124, VT 12.37 London Euston-Manchester Piccadilly (1H67, 6L), Roade Cutting Heavily back-lit but any opportunity to capture a class 390 is it original as-built livery is taken as there were an increasingly fewer number by the summer of 2018. 47746 & 47826, 12.10 Acton Exchange Sidings-Crewe CS (5Z32), Roade Cutting 47746 leads the 12.10 Acton Exchange Sidings to Crewe Carriage Sidings ECS stock move through Roade Cutting. A working such as this would normally take the Northampton line here and therefore be on the down slow. But, as the Northampton loop was closed for engineering works, the train had to travel on the fast via Weedon. This did cause some inevitable slow running for the rains that were following it largely running on cautions until the train had cleared Rugby.
