I managed to combine a shopping visit with my wife and son to Milton Keynes and a rare Sunday test train working! I dropped the pair of them off and I nipped back to the WCML at Bradwell.

This is the one that nearly got away! As I parked the car I thought that I would check on Real Time Trains as to the progress of this 1Z65 test train. I was shocked to see that it was already approaching Milton Keynes Central so I had a short sprint to this spot at Bradwell to get the shot! So, apologies for the poor composition but I had no time to set the picture up properly. However, a reasonable record shot has been produced showing InterCity liveried 37254 leading the 10.43 Woking to Derby RTC working some 45 minutes early at this point.

Running a lot earlier than expected, I was lucky to capture the 10.43 Woking to Derby RTC test train at Bradwell in Milton Keynes. Here, 37219 in Colas Rail Freight livery brings up the rear of the working.

Class 390, VT 11.07 Wolverhampton-London Euston (1B13, 6E), Bradwell SP831391
The Sunday 11.07 Wolverhampton to London Euston slows as it approaches Milton Keynes past Bradwell just north of the station. There are very limited opportunities to take pictures in the Milton Keynes area as all the lineside is now smothered by palisade fencing and there are very few over-bridges that afford a decent view.

390154 'Matthew Flinders' forms the 10.38 Liverpool Lime Street to Euston working past Bradwell just north of Milton Keynes station. Matthew Flinders was a leading cartographer and explorer who, by circumnavigating Australia in 1801, declared it to be a continent. The Pendolino was named at Euston, very aptly as it is thought that Flinders' remains are under platform 15 as this land previously belonged to St. James' Church on Hampstead Road.

Two class 390 Pendolinos cross at Bradwell just north of Milton Keynes station. On the down fast to the right is an unidentified member of the class working the 11.50 London Euston to Birmingham New Street. On the up fast is 390154 'Matthew Flinders' forms the 10.38 Liverpool Lime Street to Euston.

350246, 350114 & 350111, LM 11.24 London Euston-Birmingham New Street & Crewe (2Y11, 1L & 1U33, RT), Bradwell SP831391
A twelve-car London Midland EMU passes Bradwell just north of Milton Keynes station woking the 11.24 from London Euston to Birmingham New Street and Crewe with the train splitting at Northampton. 35246, 350114 and 350111 are forming the Sunday service.
