Following the completion of some work on Andy's wife's car, we had an hour at Victoria Bridge. The spell of hot and sunny weather continued with clear blue skies and hot temperatures.

1. 350375, LN 09.02 Crewe-London Euston (1U24, 2L), Victoria Bridge London Northwestern 350375 heads on the up fast past Victoria Bridge working the 09.02 Crewe to London Euston. A class 390 can just be seen on the down fast heading towards Roade, just in the background. Keywords: 350375 1U24 Victoria Bridge
390157, VT 10.30 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (1B32, 1L), Victoria Bridge This picture perfectly illustrates the problems associated with taking photographs during high summer. With sun high overhead during the day, there are deep shadows surrounding the subject that creates issues as seen here. 390157 'Chad Varah' races south past Victoria Bridge just south of Roade on the WCML with the 10.30 Birmingham New Street to London Euston. Andy photographing class 350, LN 10.14 Birmingham new Street-London Euston (1Y28, RT), Victoria Bridge My spotting companion, Andy, captures a class 350 working the 10.14 Birmingham New Street to London Euston on his Canon D60. He is leaning on the parapet of Victoria Bridge between Northampton and Milton keynes, one of my favourite spots that is just near my home. Keywords: 1Y28 Victoria Bridge
390130, VT 11.00 London Euston-Manchester Piccadilly (1H20, 1L), Victoria Bridge 390130 'City of Edinburgh' works the 11.00 London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly. It is seen here at Victoria Bridge just north of Hanslope Junction. I almost prefer this back-lit shot at this time of year rather than the normal sun-on-the back that creates deep shadows. 319441, LN 11.16 Bletchley CS-Northampton EMD ECS (5N99), Victoria Bridge I only ever seem to photograph the small number of class 319s that London Northwestern operates when running as empty coaching stock! I believe that I have only ever taken a picture of a service train on one occasion? Here, 319441 (and one of its classmates) forms the 11.16 Bletchley CS to Northampton EMD 5N99 working. 66511, 10.08 Lawley Street FLT-London Gateway (4L93), Victoria Bridge A shot that illustrates clearly the issues when photographing in high summer! With the roof and front lit, the sides are in deep shadow making it a difficult shot to get exposed correctly. 66511 leads the 10.08 Lawley Street to London gateway Freightliner past Victoria Bridge just south of Roade. Notice the roof of the 66 with huge areas of paint peeling away and consequential corrosion beginning to set in.
