A winter walk in the Avon Valley between Avoncliff and Bradford-on-Avon with my family, uncle, aunt and cousin. I was just 'getting into' trains at this time. The pictures are of very dubious quality but historically (to me at least) important!

DMU, unidentified up working, Avon Valley between Avoncliff & Bradfrod-on-Avon
A very poor quality image scanned from a negative of dubious quality! With a reflection in the remarkably calm River Avon I managed to capture this DMU working between Bradford-on-Avon and Avoncliff on my hand-me-down Exa camera. Shots like this were very difficult due to the reversed waist level viewfinder so, as an 11 year old, I think that I did pretty well!

Class 47, unidentified diverted up working, with Zoë & me looking on, Avon Valley between Avoncliff & BOA
I love this picture! Yes, the quality of the scan from the original negative is pretty ropey but that sort of enhances the atmosphere further? My uncle took then image on my Exa camera whilst I attempt to get the number of the Class 47 and my cousin Zoë does what all small children do, wave at the train!
