350375 & 350254, LN 14.54 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (2Y14, RT), Roade Cutting 
 London Northwestern 350375 and 350254 pass through Roade Cutting working the 14.54 Birmingham New Street to London Euston. This was an afternoon of sunshine and cloud, obviously, at the moment trains passed then the sun disappeared!

390046, VT 15.30 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (1B62, RT), Roade Cutting 
 The only photograph taken during the hour we were out that was in sunshine! 390046 races south forming the 15.30 Birmingham New Street to London Euston. The green structure above the rear of the train is in-fact an aqueduct that carries a brook over the railway.

43013 & 43062, 12.27 Crewe LNWR-Derby RTC (1Q27), Roade Cutting 
 A fairly regular working on the WCML is the Network Measurement Train (NMT). On Wednesdays it usually does a circular route including a flying trip to Euston and back on the fast lines. Here, it is returning to Derby RTC as 1Q27 passing through Roade Cutting. It is believed that the front power car is 43013, the rear one is 43062.

86639 & 86608, 11.13 Felixstowe-Trafford Park (4M87), Roade Cutting 
 Vintage motive power for the 11.13 Felixstowe to Trafford Park Freightliner. 86639 and 86608 pass through Roade Cutting hauling their working north. Freightliner have announced that they are going to continue to use these elderly locomotives for the foreseeable future, testament to their reliability and power.

350368 & 350233, LN 15.14 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (1Y58, RT) & 390135, VT 12.40 Glasgow Central-London Euston (1M13, 4E), Roade Cutting 
 London Northwestern versus Virgin in Roade Cutting! On the up slow, 350368 and 350233 pass working the 1Y50 15.14 Birmingham New Street to London Euston. Meanwhile, 390135 'City of Lancaster' is about to overtake it on the up fast with the 1M13 12.40 Glasgow Central to London Euston.

66759, 11.55 London Gateway-Hams Hall (4M46), Roade Cutting 
 GBRF liveried 66759 'Chippy' hauls the 11.55 London Gateway to Hams Hall Freightliner. The 4M46 working is seen passing through Roade Cutting. The unusual name'Chippy' is in the memory of a former GBRF train manager, Clive Chippington, who unexpectedly passed away in 2015.
