350267, LN 10.47 MKC-London Euston (2K24, 1L), MKC station
Because of the very late return journey that was going to be needed, we opted to travel from and to Milton Keynes station parking the car in their multi-storey car park. Here, our train waits to leave Milton keynes Central with the 10.47 to London Euston.

221104, VT 10.10 London Euston-Chester (1D84, RT), MKC station
With much of the concrete that dominates throughout Milton keynes in evidence, 221104 'Sir John Franklin' draws into its station working the 10.10 London Euston to Chester. Sir John Franklin was an Arctic explorer who died in 1843 when he and his expedition got trapped whilst attempting to explore and navigate the North West Passage.

66546, 08.14 Crewe BH-Felixstowe N, MKC station
66546 passes through Milton Keynes' platform 1 with the 08.14 Crewe Basford Hall to Felixstowe Freightliner. Using my 'pocket' camera, complete with its limitations, I was surprised at the reasonable quality of this picture. Admittedly, I did need to use Neat Image (an excellent Photoshop plug-in) to take care of some 'noise' as I was pushing the ISO a little!

350255, LN 23.04 London Euston-Northampton (2N33, RT) & 378201, LO 22.57 London Euston-Watford Juncrion (2D47, 4L), London Euston station
A late night scene at Euston station. To the right is London Overground 378201 about to leave with the 22.57 to Watford Junction. To the left is our train back to Milton Keynes, the 23.04 2N33 stopper to Northampton. This service was surprisingly busy but did take an earth to get to our destination as it stopped at virtually every station on its journey north.

Tickets, Milton Keynes Central-London Euston-Milton Keynes Central
The return tickets from Milton Keynes, a pricey day out that again shows the vagaries of the network's fare structure.
