An after-dinner visit to Victoria Bridge for half an hour or so. I borrowed the wife's Range Rover - it's not very often I get a chance to drive it!

Victoria Bridge is located between Milton Keynes and Northam[ton on the WCML and is a lovely spot to spend some time recording the passage of trains. Unfortunately, it is still too early in the spring for the line beyond the bridge to be shadow free at this time of the day. So, in the shadows, London North Western 350110 & 350370 pass with the 17.54 London Euston to Northampton.

There has been recent ballast work at Victoria Bridge by the look of it. Victoria Bridge is a smashing spot on the southern West Coast Mainline near to Roade in Northamptonshire. In this evening view, 390136 'City of Coventry' is about to pass under the bridge forming the 18.34 Euston to Liverpool Lime Street. This working will not pass through its namesake but take the Trent Valley line through Nuneaton, Tamworth and then to Stafford.

With the soft evening light of spring enhancing the background, 350125 runs on the up fast past Victoria Bridge just south of Roade forming the 17.02 Crewe to London Euston. One of Roade's notable water towers can be seen on the skyline.

Passing through the shadows at Victoria Bridge near to Roade, 350261 works the 17.54 from Birmingham New Street to London Euston (2Y96) service. The oilseed rape is just coming into flower in the background, this particular field is the one that my house looks directly over!
