A quick visit to one of my favourite local haunts, Victoria bridge, near Roade on the WCML.

350125, LN-09.49 London Euston-Birmingham New Street (1W07, 2L), Victoria Bridge 350125 travels on the down slow line of the WCML past Victoria Bridge near Roade forming the 09.49 London Euston to Birmingham New Street. This shot is heavily back-lit but I like the effect of the sun bouncing off the roof, the sides and the face of the tracks. Keywords: 350125 1W07 Victoria Bridge WCML Roade
390117, VT 06.30 Glasgow C-London Euston (1M07, 15L), Victoria Bridge 390117 'Virgin Prince' races past Victoria Bridge forming the 06.30 Glasgow Central to London Euston running as 1M07. This is the second up working of the day to leave Glasgow (excluding the sleepers) but the first to reach this far south and is now into the final thirty minutes of its journey. Note the disused Roade water tower in the background and the vast new housing estate that occupies the site of the old Pianoforte factory site. Keywords: 390117 1M07 Victoria Bridge WCML Roade
Class 221s, VT 05.49 Glasgow-C-London Euston (9M48, RT), Victoria-Bridge Despite leaving Glasgow central forty minutes earlier than the 06.30 working to London Euston, this one has taken longer to reach here. It is now ten minutes behind the 06.30 formed by a Pendolino. These 221s will have gone via the 'old' WCML route through Birmingham, hence their longer journey time.
