90041, 90013 & 90004, 09.32 Felixstowe North-Ditton (4M88, 4E), Hyde Road bridge
With potentially fifteen thousand horsepower on tap, the 4M88 09.32 Felixstowe to Ditton passes Roade. However, close examination reveals that 90004 (the third locomotive in the lineup) has its pantograph lowered with just 90041 and 90013 under power. It could have been failure that caused this event but as the train was running to time suggests that this was not the case. Perhaps 90004 was simply being returned to Freightliner's Crewe headquarters with the train having over an hour timetabled stop at Basford Hall giving ample time to remove it from the consist. Incidentally, since it was named on 13.09.24 this is my first photograph of 90041 'Pete Waterman OBE'.
