66006, 11.59 Burton-ot-Wetmore-Acton TC (6V96, 11L), Victoria bridge
With the number of Class 66s still remaining in their as-built EWS liveries complete with branding now getting far fewer as DB Cargo continues to repaint and rebrand them catching one is getting more tricky. In fact, 66006 leading the Burton-ot-Wetmore to Acton TC empty wagons past Victoria bridge near Roade is the earliest member of the class still wearing this livery. The paintwork is standing up pretty well considering that it dates from October 1998. Could you imagine a first-generation diesel still wearing its original BR paintwork twenty-six years after it entered service? Having said this, not many actually survived that long in service! With the light all but gone it really ought to be time to head for home but with just one more thing of interest approaching, not quite yet....!
