Andy, Hall Road level crossing With the station of the same name in the background, Andy crosses Hall Road West. To the left through the substantial gates was the Hall Road TMD which was originally opened by the LMS in 1939 to provide additional capacity for their new fleet of state-of-the-art Class 502 EMUs that were being delivered at that time. The depot continued in use until 1997 when maintenance became concentrated at Kirkdale and Birkenhead North.
