It is a large brick-built structure that spans the Merseyrail Northern line on a substantial bridge that takes the A565 over the railway. I love this station sign that is set into the frontage of the building and am pleased that it has survived the ravages of modernisation over the years, especially during the BR era when things such as this were removed asunder in the drive towards corporate identity!
