Silecroft signal box (Furness, 1923) Silecroft signal box is a Furness Railway Company Type 4 design fitted with a thirty-five lever Railway that was opened in 1923 by the London Midland & Scottish Railway Company replacing an earlier signal box located diagonally across the level crossing on which I am standing. I last photographed this box on a visit in 1986. Then I stood at the other end of the box in the former goods yard. The box looked considerably more decrepit then but it was a dull and cold day in early spring! Once the photograph has been scanned and uploaded, a link will be placed here.
