Not stopping at Wellingborough, a couple of miles behind me, means that 222007 working the 16.35 Sheffield to St. Pancras service is taking Harroden Junction at full line speed. If the plans come to fruition, this scene is set to change dramatically over the coming years with the route being returned to four tracks seeing a second slow line being reinstated. Also, the line is due to be electrified thus spoiling the unobscured wide vista. However, the start/stop nature of the electrification process may well mean this will not happen for many years yet!
