I am going to take some time getting used to the look and livery of the re-purposed Class 56s! 69009 now named 'Western Consort' takes its name from the former Western Region hydraulic D1065 that I last photographed in 1977 on the scrap lines at Swindon, see.....
https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/23615749804/d1057-western-pathfinder-d1001-western. The 'new' locomotive is seen passing through Roade leading the 13.11 Widness Transport Tech to Wembley Yard stock move transferring SWR's 458410 back to its Southern haunts. The unit has been extensively refurbished by Alstom with it returning to its original four-car formation. On either side of the unit is a pair of former Class 508 EMUs now used as translator coaches, the leading one is 64707 'Labezerin' with 64664 'Llwet' at the rear.
