The sun always seems to shine when I visit Grange-over-Sands!

Today was no exception with 156488 arriving working the 07.10 Carlisle to Lancaster Northern service. Up until the end of April, there were no through trains east of Grange with buses ferrying passengers for a month to avoid a derailment of a six-car Class 195 caused by undermined track on the sea wall. For many in the local community, the closure reinforced the importance of the railway with the roads taking circuitous routes with them often narrow and congested.
