Bootle signal box (Furness, 1871) Bootle signal box is seen at the northern end of the down platform. It is a Grade II listed structure 'as a rare surviving example of a Furness Railway Type 1 signal box, being the least altered example of the two survivors on the national rail network' according to the citation on the Historic England entry.
