partially painted with some poor quality faded pink paint is somewhat of a mystery not helped by some vandalism and patching with paint of a different colour! The classic 1948 Southern structure is now one of a handful remaining including some on the TfL network. Often referred to as 'Odeon-style' these boxes are extremely elegant Art-Deco styled and would have been very modern and contemporary when opened. This example was used as an S & T school when it was closed but that work is no longer undertaken so its present-day use is limited.
