Still wearing its huge Network SouthEast nameboard Bognor Regis signal box is seen located at the northern end of the station throat. The iconic Type 13 boxes were built by the Southern between 1936 and 1946 in an effort to promote their go-ahead approach approach and were associated with its main line electrification schemes. This example was built in 1938 to the classic design complete with curves to both the brickwork and the glass giving them their 'Odeon' nickname. This box contains a sixty-six lever frame and there is no date for its replacement by Network Rail; for the time being that is!
