Farncombe signal box (LSW, 1897)
Farncombe signal box is located to the south of the station where a road crosses the railway. The remains of the long disused McKenzie and Holland frame is apparently in the locking room being stamped 'L&SWR 1896' with the installation of a 'cooker switch' panel having made it redundant in 1986. The box is typical of the L&SWR being constructed in 1897. At present I have no date for its replacement but I suspect that it won't be too long before re-signalling catches up with it.
