Farnham signal box (LSW, 1901)
Farnham signal box (LSW, 1901)
Dating from 1901 Farnham signal box is to a classic London and South Western design with the added charm of an external personal needs block. It has been authentically painted and has a period nameboard. Whilst the windows have been changed for UPVC units that maintain the original glazing pattern. The box is due to close this summer along with Ash Vale and Aldershot (previously photographed on this trip) as part of the Sussex and Wessex Signalling Framework contract awarded to Atkins by Network Rail. Another piece of classic railway infrastructure is about to bite the dust!
