Former Virgin Thunderbird 57303 is now operated by, despite appearances, GBRf, and is now employed, among other things, undertaking drags. Having received attention (or conversion as it is being referred to!) at Alstom's Widness Technology Centre the locomotive tows South Western Railway's 458421 back to its third rail territory. The twenty-five million pound refurbishment of the 458s sees them reverting back to four-car sets and for use ostensibly on the London to Portsmouth route instead of the refurbished Class 442s; a plan that was quietly dropped that saw them unseremoniously scrapped. The two green barrier coaches are of interest being converted from former Class 508 EMUs. The leading one in this image is 64707 (formally from 508207) 'Laberzerin' now owned and operated by Arlington Fleet Services. I am not sure of the identity of the rear barrier unless anybody can identify it. After a layover in Wembley Yard, the 5Q62 then moved on and back to its Bournemouth base.
