There was talk on the internet that Black 5 45407 'The Lancashire Fusilier' would lead the 5Z42 09.33 Carnforth to Southall empty stock move. However, the decision was taken to pilot the train with 47812 attached to the front with the Black 5 then in light steam. Unfortunately, being double-headed meant that the two locomotives did not fit in the space at my chosen spot at Victoria bridge just south of Roade. The drab WCR colour scheme applied to their stock and the Type 4 does not really stand out on this dull April day!
