Whilst I am a fan of HS2 and of its

now curtailed northern arms, when I see the enormous impact on the landscape needed for its construction I do wince a little. I suppose that the long-term benefits have to be taken into account and hopefully they will trump the shorter-term issues but I am not too sure that local residents will agree. This view is looking southeast from a point where the line will run in a few years near the villages of Upper and Lower Boddington.
