With 86259 'Les Ross/Peter Pan' out of action following failure working the previous Cumbrian Mountain Express on 27.01.24 West Coast Railways has been forced to substitute a diesel in the form of 47815 'Great Western' for today's charter. In addition, due to the refusal of the regulator to allow WCR to use their own Mk. 1 stock without the fitting of CDL (central door locking), they have had to hire in compliant stock that has been hastily re-branded with WCR vinyls. Still running as 1Z86 (in a nod to its usual haulage) the charter is seen arriving at Milton Keynes station on a very dull February morning.
